Ada has lived next door to Emily for a very long time, and Emily has lived next door to Ada for just as long. They have talked about everything that good neighbours are supposed to talk about. Or so Ada has always thought.

Then, one day, Ada’s teacup, teaspoon and even her toothbrush begin to whisper that she has forgotten to tell Emily the most important thing of all.

But how could Ada ever put something so enormous into words? And what if Emily leaves before Ada finds the courage to tell her?

Overwhelmed, Ada jumps on her bicycle and pedals off towards the sunset. When Emily sees her go, she follows – but sets off towards the sunrise.

So begins a whirlwind bicycle journey around the world. Will the two friends find their way back to each other?

What Ada Forgot to Say is the first picture-book collaboration between author Kaisa Happonen and illustrator Anna Emilia Laitinen. Happonen’s subtle prose and Laitinen’s delicate watercolour illustrations bring to life a heart-warming story about the radiant power of friendship.
