Pauliina Susi (born 1968) is a versatile writer who has published numerous crime novels and a nonfiction book about private detectives. She has a master’s degree in political science and has worked as a journalist for several Finnish publications.
Readers and critics have fallen in love with her Tuulia Raja cozy-crime series, which combines sparkling writing with tangled human relationships and gripping murder mysteries. When the lively and happy-go-lucky forty-year-old flight attendant Tuulia finds herself unemployed, she works as a private investigator for an unsavory old guy named Yrjö Rahkonen.
The crimes are solved, and the story skims along in a way that has reminded many readers of the 1980s Cybill Shepherd / Bruce Willis TV series Moonlighting.
The books are set in the small town of Järvenpää in southern Finland, where the author herself has lived.
