Juha Kauppinen

Juha Kauppinen (b. 1975) is a Finnish journalist and author. He has studied biology at the University of Jyväskylä, and he has been writing about nature and the environment for more than 20 years.

His previous non-fiction titles Monimuotoisuus (2019) and Heräämisiä (2021) have been met with critical acclaim in Finland and have been hailed as a renewing force in Finnish non-fiction literature. He has also co-authored an illustrated non-fiction title Korvaamattomat (2023, with Janne Toriseva) that describes the keystone species of the world.

Kauppinen is a renowned speaker who has talked about biodiversity loss and the fateful questions of planet Earth on numerous forums. For his works, Kauppinen has received, among others, the Bonnier Great Journalism Prize and the State Award for Public Information.
