Jari Mäkipää

Jari Mäkipää is a children’s and YA author and screenwriter. He has studied screenwriting at the Tampere University of Applied Sciences and at the University of Salford and he has worked as a producer, director, and editor at Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE.

He is best known for his Etsiväkerho Hurrikaani series that spans 20 titles and he has co-authored numerous children’s and YA programs for YLE. For his works, Mäkipää has been awarded with the City of Tampere Literature Prize and has been nominated for the Anni Polva Prize.
