At sixteen, Xaskia is still in training to become one of the few; a spellcaster and caretaker of the powerful blossoms. During the village’s most important blossom festival, a spell goes catastrophically wrong and Xaskia is thrown into a dangerous parallel spell-reality. Remaining there too long means losing one’s sense of self entirely. Trapped in the a surreal, pink-hued landscape populated by strange, fluffy, talking creatures born from her own subconscious, Xaskia must find a way home before she disappears forever.
Back home, Naum searches desperately for Xaskia and forms an unexpected bond with Sona, a newcomer to their community—who turns out to be the only person still able to see and communicate with Xaskia across the spell’s boundary. As feelings deepen between Naum and Sona, Xaskia must confront jealousy, fear, and her own assumptions, even as she works to undo the spell that binds her. Can she return before it is too late, and what awaits her if she does?
