Daniel Katz’ WHEN GRANDFATHER SKIED TO FINLAND sold to Magvető Kiadó!

Magvető Kiadó has acquired Hungarian rights to Daniel Katz’ WHEN GRANDFATHER SKIED TO FINLAND, a saga originally published by WSOY in 1969. In the novel, Katz draws on his family’s rich supply of stories and mixes them with East European Jewish lore, transforming a dark and tragic background of cruelty, pogroms and alienation into piquant, warm-hearted narratives about survival, and, ultimately, a beautiful anti-war plea. The novel has been translated into 15 languages over the years. Magvető Kiadó will use an earlier translation by Gombar Ende.
