Sonja Koski was a Finnish biologist, primatologist, and evolutionary anthropologist. She studied animal physiology at the University of Helsinki and received her PhD in Behavioural Psychology from the University of Utrecht. During her career as a scientist, she also worked at the universities of Leiden, Cambridge, and Zurich, while remaining a researcher and, from 2016, a docent at the University of Helsinki.
Koski’s fields of research included evolutionary anthropology, anthrozoology, comparative psychology, behavioural biology, and welfare sciences. In addition to having been a respected researcher, Koski was also a vocal popularizer of science.
