The Woodland Lullaby board book is a dreamy, illustrated journey into the heart of the forest, where even the pine trees are readying for bed. The calm and serene atmosphere of the work is created by the gentle poem and the beautiful illustrations – perfect for a child and a grown-up to share in the quiet moments before sleep.

Visually strikingly beautiful, the book offers little readers a wonderful glimpse into the world of words and visual art. As usual, Kaisa Happonen’s writing allows grown-ups to discover further layers, and Anne Vasko’s gorgeous illustrations of the woodland animals tucked under the protective layer of the forest provide the space in which delight and rest.

Together Kaisa and Anne have previously created the award-winning picture book series about a little bear cub MUR that has been translated into twenty languages to date. Their sweet bear cub also makes a cameo-appearance in their two acclaimed Woodland storybooks filled with charming and wise stories from the Nordic woods: The Woodland Night (Metsän ilta, Tammi 2024) and The Woodland Light (Metsän valo, Tammi 2024). The Woodland Lullaby (Metsänpeitto, Tammi 2025) is the ‘little sister’ of the two, in sweet board book format.
