Patricia G. Bertényi’s hospital thriller series optioned for TV adaption!

Exciting news—Patricia G. Bertényi’s acclaimed hospital thriller series Department C1 has been optioned by Take Two Studios for adaptation into a television series!

Set within the high-stakes world of a university hospital, the Department C1novels follow Janka Vitéz, a 60-year-old hospital cleaner whose quiet exterior conceals her former career as the chief forensic pathologist. When suspicious deaths occur, Janka is drawn into investigations that expose dark secrets hidden behind the hospital walls. The books have captivated readers with their distinctive blend of medical authenticity, suspense and compelling characters.

The series will be written by Markku Flink and Antti Pesonen, whose credits include the internationally successful crime drama Bordertown (Sorjonen). Flink will also serve as producer, with Sara Norberg and Eero Hietala as executive producers for Take Two Studios.
