A Robinson Crusoe-style school day!
Ella and her friends’ trip into nature turns into a survival adventure when the floodwaters carry away the bridge leading to the island. Phones, smoke signals, and jungle drums are of no help now, so the school children’s ingenuity is put to the test.
The shipwrecked students are worried about whether they’ll get back to school before the end of the day, the summer holidays, or even the end of year exam results. Fortunately the teacher has some good news as well as some bad news:
“If we ration our food, we’ll make it to tomorrow if we need to,” the teacher said. “We can’t contact the outside world, but at least we have each other. Let’s see our misfortune as an opportunity to learn something new about ourselves and the world we live in.”
– And the good news? Pete asked.
– That was the good news, the teacher replied, breezily.
– And the bad news? I asked.
– I left the food bag at school.
